The more information parents share, the more they can benefit from the options given to them. There is no such thing as too many questions!
What to Expect During a Consultation:
After taking a history and getting an understanding of how things are going, we will see how your baby looks physically and while nursing to ensure that the baby is latching, sucking, swallowing, and their body position is comfortable for both of you.
If you are having pain this is not normal!
Follow up is critical that is why I do it for free! Twice a day I will call and check in each day for a week. In the morning we can check in and make a plan for the day. Then in the evening we evaluate the day and adjust the plan as the baby is getting better at nursing. This also gives you plenty of times to ask questions as they arise daily, and to solve problems quickly and talk about new issues as your baby is changing and growing each day so the plan also changes with them.
The fastest way to schedule a consult is to call or text Ann Bennett IBCLC, RCL at 512-965-4626
I usually have availability to see Moms same day.
Fees:
I work with The Lactation Network to provide consults with no out-of-pocket charge to you. This option will cover specific insurance plans usually BCBS PPO, Anthem BCBS PPO, and some others. It is easy to check your coverage here After checking please call or text for the fastest appt. time.
If you are not covered by insurance or you would prefer to pay out of pocket the cost for the consult is $270. and includes:
A one hour consultation, a chart sent to your pediatrician or midwife to tell them your plan. Also I will follow up with you for one week for FREE twice daily by phone to adjust your plan, this is about 3 more hours of time with me, one on one for questions and education. This also gives us time after solving the initial problem to talk about baby care, baby wearing, going back to work, and future planning for topics like how to introduce solids after 6 months in a way that supports breastfeeding. I want you to have time to digest new information and then see what questions arise after you have had some time to let it sink in.
